Although you can’t really see the whole box in this picture, this is a great bento box I got from Japan at JBox.   It has two tiers and looks like a loaf of bread when all stacked together.  I filled the top with spinach salad with carrot flowers, cheese flowers (nori centers), cherry tomatoes and a fish-shaped egg (yes, an egg shaped like a fish).  The little penguin is filled with ranch.  The bottom is filled with flower shaped wieners topped with cheese flowers and little triangle onigiri with nori faces.

The box came back empty except for a few nibbles of rice and the egg yolk.  Apparently Bug decided that he doesn’t care for egg yolk, but likes the white.

Finally we got a break in the heat today with a low of 72 and a high of only 92.  There were some afternoon showers, which might actually bring a spot or two of green to the yard.
